A family furniture shop in Cloghran
Good furniture.
Honest advice.
Fifty years of both.
Bernie Mahon opened the doors in 1973. Families have been coming back ever since—for sofas you can sit on, beds you can try and people who’ll tell you straight.

A showroom, not a scroll
Furniture is better
when you can sit on it.
We’re not an anonymous website with a warehouse somewhere. Our showroom is full of furniture you can see, touch, compare and take your time over. If you need a hand, we’re here. If you want a quiet look around, that’s grand too.
Bernie & Stephen · Family businessStill here. Still ourselves.
The internet changed.
People didn’t.
People still want furniture that lasts, a fair price and somebody who knows what they’re talking about. Bernie built the business that way. Stephen carried it on, and today his son and daughter are part of the working day too. Stephen also looks after complete furniture fit-outs, from the first conversation and recommendations through to delivery.
We now meet customers whose parents—and sometimes grandparents—bought their first suite or dining table here. That means more to us than any sales line we could write.

The people made the place
There was only one
Uncle Charlie.
Bernie’s brother Charles Maguire was kind, clever and always dapper—a marketing genius who was well ahead of his time. He was also, by all accounts, an unofficial employment agency for Stephen’s friends. If somebody needed a start, Charlie generally found them one.
He followed Ireland around the world and had enough stories for another website entirely. This one belongs here because the showroom was never only about furniture. It was built out of family, friendship and people looking after one another.

“Some furniture shops are just there to make money. Not us. We’re here for you.”
Hard to improve on that, really.
